The story for the "Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel has already been completed, James Gunn has recently revealed, as reported by io9.com.

"I turned in my treatment. I'm going in to meet about it Friday and we will start working on the screenplay next week," Gunn was quoted by Screen Rant as saying. Gunn also reportedly said that the script for the movie is "very, very far along" at 70 pages. Gunn also described his "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" discussions with Marvel producers Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Jonathan Schwartz, and Victoria Alonso as the "best experience he ever had with a pitch."

Here are some of the other revelations made by Gunn:

First, Ronan the Accuser is indeed gone. "Ronan is a bad guy, we killed him. Not everything is going to happen in the movies the same as the comics," Gunn was quoted by Screen Rant saying.

Lee Pace, who played the said role, earlier said in an IGN interview that he would love to come back in the movie. "I love the character...I'd love to play him again! Who knows!?," he was quoted as saying. "I loved that film...I was so proud to be a part of that whole fun moment. I found the character very, very interesting, exceptionally, and in playing him -- this kind of charismatic space terrorist. The idea is fascinating."

But sorry Pace, Gunn has already spoken.

Second, Gunn admitted that the hardest part of the movie is the "setting up" and the designing of the characters.

Third, we will get to know the "Guardians" in a "deeper way" in the sequel. The upcoming movie is again expected to come out in 3D. According to Screen Rant, the second movie installment will reveal Star-Lord's father and "show that the heroes are worse than you think."

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2017, as revealed by Marvel in October last year.

Gunn revealed in an interview with Variety that the five main characters -- Peter Quill or Star Lord, played by Chris Pratt; Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana; Groot, played by Vin Diesel; Drax the Destroyer, played by Dave Bautista; and Rocket, played by Bradley Cooper -- will be coming back in the movie, alongside other unspecified returning characters.

Already thinking of a third "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie? Don't worry! Gunn has your back as he has earlier revealed that he has already ideas for the next movie franchises.

"[T]o be honest, I had the basic story for number two while I was working on number one, and perhaps even beyond that. So it’s gonna answer a lot of questions that are proposed in the first one, and we’ll be able to get to know some of the characters we didn’t get to know in the first one a little bit more, and we might meet a few new characters too," Gunn told Indiewire.
