Beyonce will have football fans and all the single ladies crazy in love with her all over again when she performs during next year's Super Bowl halftime show.

The Associated Press reports that a source said Beyonce will indeed perform during the coveted show.

Beyonce recently pulled out of Clint Eastwood's remake of the classic "A Star Is Born." The 16-time Grammy-award winner cited scheduling conflicts. Perhaps this is the reason why? Beyonce hasn't announced any new music or other projects recently. Some are speculating she will reveal a new song around the same time of the reported performance. Madonna released the first single from her latest "MDNA" album just two days before her performance at Super Bowl XLVI. ABC News reports Madonna's halftime show garnered more viewers than the actual Super Bowl itself. When she performed, 114 million people tuned in compared to the 111.3 million who watched the game.

Beyonce recently made an appearance at the Barclays Center as a special guest during Jay-Z's concert series to open the arena. The singer has recently being lying low since giving birth in the beginning of the year. She performed a highly-publicized show at the Revel casino in New Jersey in May.

Twitter is already abuzz with the news of the rumor.

"The Beyonce Superbowl Halftime Spectacular is going to be the high point of 2013," said @GreggyBennet

"I really hope the world doesn't end on December 21, because Beyonce is headlining the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show!" tweeted @koreykuhl.

The AP says the announcement will be officially made Wednesday. Super Bowl XLVII is scheduled for Feb. 3, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
