It has been four years since Devil May Cry fans got a chance to engage in the hit franchise. But in the next few months, Devil May Cry will return to prominence as the latest installment in the franchise is slated for a return on January 13.Pre-order details for the game were announced yesterday as GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon all offered differing content to attract gamers.

GameStop will offer up a Samurai Pack which gives Dante's Shotgun, Scythe, and Axe the appearance of Samurai weapons. Players will instantly have upgrade points to upgrade weapons and combos or purchase items for the beginning of the game.

Meanwhile, Best Buy will offer gamers a Golden Pack which turns Dante's weapons golden. They will also give gamers access to Item Finder which will help them hunt down hidden items.

Finally Amazon offers gamers the Bone Pack which will make Dante's weapons appear as if made out of Bones. Gamers will also be treated to Orb Harvester which upgrades and enhances Dante's weapons and combos faster.

The game is slated for a January 15, 2013 release on the PS 3 and Xbox 360 and will feature a new looking protagonist. Whereas Dante of priori iterations was known for his white hair, this Dante has a brown-haired crew cut and looks younger. The game was developed by Ninja Theory and is set in a parallel universe to the Devil May Cry series. Dante's brother Vergil will also make an appearance in this game.

There is no information on whether the Wii U will eventually get the game. The same goes for Capcom's other flagship game Resident Evil 6.
