Drake will release a new mixtape soon. The news comes from Karen Civil who was able to interview Drake's buddy, Canadian rapper P. Reign.

"I know Drake's dropping a mixtape that I've already heard a lot of and it's crazy...I think its some of the best I've heard from him in my life and I already know off Drake's mixtape the world is going to shake," P. Reign was quoted as saying.

The rapper also shared that he believes this year would be a "crazy year" for hiphop as many artists from the genre would definitely get back on track and produce incredible music.

Aside from Drake, P. Reign also named other famous artists expected to release their music this year. "I know Kanye is getting ready to put something out, I won't be surprised if Hov put something out. I think it'll be a huge year for hip-hop.

"I know Kendrick has something to put out. A$AP Rocky, a lot of top dudes are going for that top spot. I think it'll be one of the craziest years yet," he said.

The rapper also contemplated on what happened last year, which the late A$AP Yams considered as "one of the worst years" for hip-hop.

"First of all, a lot of the top rap artists didn't put out nothing. The Jay Z's, the Kanye's, the Drake's - nobody in the top upper echelon of hip-hop put something out so just on that note...For example, I think YG should have been included only because his album was so crazy. I loved J. Cole's album. But there's not a lot of albums I can say that I loved," Karen Civil quoted P. Reign as saying.

Going back to Drake, the reports about the new mixtape come after NBA player DeMar DeRozan told NBATV that rapper gave him a record that is set to be released this January.

DeRozan said in the interview, "It's incredible having that type of artist of his magnitude be able to support us the way he do (pertaining to Drake)...Because he definitely really do support us; it's not just for show. He come in the locker room, [we] talk to him. I talked to him the other night. Actually, he said he wants to give me his mixtape that come out in January."

Remember that Drake also has an upcoming album which is called "Views From The 6." The specific release date of the album is still unknown. Paste Magazine is speculating that Drake's future in releasing albums might be affected by the feud Lil Wayne has with Cash Money Records.
