President Obama's re-election campaign recently sent out an e-mail to announce a fundraiser that is being held in New York City and being hosted by hip-hop superstar Jay-Z.

Power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce are showing their support for the President, his vision and beliefs with a soiree at in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York at Jay-Z's 40/40 Club, which is scheduled to go down on Tuesday September 18th.

"I've had the honor of meeting President Obama and the First Lady a few times and believe me it's an opportunity you don't want to miss," Beyonce wrote in the e-mail that was sent out to supporters, informing them of the posh political party.

The fundraising event is open to the general public, but the open invite comes with a super steep price tag. Tickets will be made available at $10,000 per head. Don't have the funds? Don't fret! Obama supporters can make a modest contribution to the campaign and as a gesture of gratitude they will be entered into a drawing to win free tickets.

Jay-Z and Beyonce are not the only music moguls hoping to help Obama secure a second term in the White House. According to Wikipedia, the President has sixty-some musicians offering public endorsements. Among the big-name celebs are Hillary Duff, Ricky Martin, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin and Mariah Carey. These select six have all followed in Jay-Z's footsteps and taken part in their own presidential fundraisers and other fanfare.

Hillary Duff doled out $35,800 to attend a dinner party and meet the Obamas. Ricky Martin took to the stage and performed in an LGBT fundraiser in New York recently. Gwen Stefani held a huge $2,500-per-family fundraising dinner at her home in Beverly Hills. Beyonce has shown her support through song, singing at several different musical events. Aretha Franklin spent a fortune to attend Sarah Jessica Parker's $40,000-per-person fundraiser in June. Lastly, Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey both performed at a $10,000-per-person fundraising event that was hosted at the Plaza Hotel.

Will.i.Am, the Black Eyed Peas producer showed his own style of support this year when he wrote and recorded a song called "Yes We Can" in honor of the President. His video for the song features a number of other famous Obama fans like Scarlett Johansson and Herbie Hancock. We have the video right here, so in the immortal words of Boys II Men, "check this out...see if this one moves you!"
