You know that a show has made it into pop culture when they spawned their own merchandise, but better yet, you know that it has become big in pop culture when it is given its own Lego set.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lego is releasing a set based on the popular CBS sitcom: "The Big Bang Theory" which follows a group of scientists and their only non-scientific friend.

The set was proposed a few months ago, with the description reading, "This LEGO set proposal is based on the popular American sitcom The Big Bang Theory created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. The set represents the living room of Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstadter, which is the core location of the series. It's filled with geeky details accurate to the show including Sheldon's board, Green Lantern lantern, Rubik's cube tissue box, DNA model, mini LEGO Death Star and more!"

The Telegraph UK also reported that Peter Espersen from Lego Ideas also loved the idea of the miniature nerd set, saying that "The Big Bang Theory" being Lego-fied is "a true match made in scientific heaven because the brilliant characters in this popular American TV series appreciate Lego bricks."

The news came as part of the fall 2014 Ideas projects. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Lego Ideas gives fans to post their own models to the website. Those that get 10,000 supporters are guaranteed to get official reviews by the company.

The same article also stated that Lego is not only considering the CBS sitcom to add to its many sets. A Doctor Who set is also being considered for official release. Other Lego sets that came from the Ideas include "Back to the Future" sets and the "Ghostbusters" car.

"The Big Bang Theory," created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady stars Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter, Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper, Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, Kunal Nayyar as Raj Kuthrapali, Melissa Rauch as Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz, Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler, and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting as Penny (last name unknown).

It is currently in its eighth season and has been renewed through to a tenth season in the fall slot series 2016-17.

"The Big Bang Theory" set, however, will not be arriving in time for Christmas. The Hollywood Reporter noted that the set will likely be released between 6-9 months from now. Pricing and availability has also not been discussed yet, although fans should be on the lookout for more Lego news regarding the sitcom.

Would you be buying your Lego nerds soon?
