Where to in New York City on Halloween night? In the Big Apple, this annual ghastly observance is celebrated not just for a night, but a full week, according to Brooklyn Vegan. However, if you're keen on knowing what's happening evening of October 31st, here are the ones you should know about:
Village Halloween Parade
This is happening from 7 in the evening to 10:30 p.m., from 6th Avenue North of Spring Street to 16th Street. "Anyone wearing a costume is invited to participate and can gather before the parade on Sixth Avenue at Canal Street. The parade can also be watched on television at 8 p.m. EDT," The International Business Times said.
"This year's theme is the Garden of Earthly Delights, and the parade will embrace all of the nature in New York that makes our city so wild," Time Out New York said. "They'll be joined by the awe-inspiring puppets created by Superior Concept Monsters, the Madagascar Institute, the Puppeteers' Cooperative and Basil Twist's studio, among others." Now on it's 41st year, this is one event you should not miss!
The Haunted Pumpkin Garden
If you have a thing for pumpkins, go to the NYBG to check out more than 500 "expertly carved" produce, About.com said.
AMNH Halloween Celebration
"Families can trick or treat in the Museum's iconic halls," CityGuideNY.com said. "The afternoon will include live performances by the David Grover Band and Louie and Subanda; The Big Apple Circus' 'Dr. Finkelstein's Zombie Show'; a special appearance by the Big Nazo Lab, magic by Robert Austin, arts and crafts, origami, roaming characters including Clifford, Curious George, Miffy and Cookie Mouse." The event happens from 4 in the afternoon until 7 in the evening.
The Second Annual Fancycat Halloween Gala
"Keeping with Highline Ballroom's Cirque Fridays, the evening will include aerialists, dancers, DJs and more, with a scary twist. Doors open, 11pm," CityGuideNY.com noted. This is for those 18 and above.
Halloween on the Hudson
If you're feeling like a cruise, sail on the Zephyr on Hallow's Eve. The vessel, in keeping with the occasion, will be turned into a haunted house. Boarding starts at 9:30 p.m. Sail time is at 9:45 p.m. until midnight. For those 21 and above only
NYC Halloween Afterparty
"All 4 massive floors of Webster Hall transform into a twisted mausoleum filled with heart-pounding dance music, hair-raising spectacles, and a Halloween party experience one will never forget," the NY city guide promised. The costume contest also promises a $5,000 prize and begins 8 p.m. (18+).
