"NBA 2K15" can now be played on-the-go as 2K Sports released the mobile version of the video game for Android and iOS 8.

The mobile version shall feature upgraded graphics, new player animations, and realistic gameplay, reports the Phone Arena.

It also includes a quick game mode, a full "MyCareer" mode similar to that found in other console platforms, virtual controls, and the same soundtrack put together by Pharrell Williams, cites News 10.

NBA 2K15 at a glance

"NBA 2K15" is a basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports.

As the 16th instalment to the NBA 2K franchise, the video game was officially released on October 7 in North America for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, details 2K in its website.

"Featuring NBA MVP Kevin Durant on the cover, 'NBA 2K15' hits the court with unprecedented life-like graphics, ultra-realistic NBA gameplay, and more," claims 2K.

Gamers also have the chance to play with other NBA superstars including Cleveland's LeBron James, Chicago's Derek Rose, LA Laker's Kobe Bryant, among a host of others, says the Phone Arena.

Price and How to Download

The portable version of the "NBA 2K15" on Android and iOS 8 comes with a price.

At $7.99, Phone Arena believes that the price is reasonable enough compared to the bothersome in-app purchases.

Apple has already made the iOS version of the game on iTunes beginning October 16.

The mobile app requires an operating system of iOS 7.1 or later, including iOS 8 of course, and it is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

At the moment, the game can only be purchased on Android through the Amazon's Appstore but pundits say that this exclusivity will be short-lived. They believe that the game will eventually become available in Google Play Store, notes the Phone Arena.

Amazon has likewise made the game available on its Appstore starting October 16. The minimum mobile operating system required to download is Android 4.2.

At 1.7GB file size, the Android app of "NBA 2K15" is technically smaller compared to its iOS counterpart which would take 1.8GB of Apple device memory.
