The eighth edition of Nuestra Belleza Latina reached its end on Sunday, May 18, acknowledging Puerto Rican Aleyda Ortíz as the eighth winner of the crown of the most important beauty contest for the Latino community in the United States.

Before the grand finale, the contestants were pampered with food during their last meals in the mansion, in the company of their mothers, where they took the opportunity to thank the audience for their support, the Latino audience that voted for them and allowed them tor each the las session for the crown.

On Sunday, the grand gala began when Denise entered the stage with her girls, Aleyda and Aly, followed by Alicia with Nabila and Josephine. The Godmothers, expecting that one of their girls would win, acknowledged the great efforts of each contestant during the three months of the contest and preparation.

The final test for the beauties saw the participation of the host of Sábado Gigante, Don Francisco, who was in charge of applying a test to see their talent and how they would develop if they were a part of his show. Aly took the role of replacing La Cuatro, while Nabila played the role of a 2014 doll. On her part, Josephine starred in an ad and the sensual Aleyda was interviewed by Don Francisco and danced the famous song "la colita" for him.

Luis Fonsi was in charge of setting the stage on fire with his recent song "Corazón en la maleta". Fonsi danced and delighted the audience in the company of the seven queens invited to the grand finale. Yuri's participation delighted the audience with a futuristic show in the company of her group of dancers.

In a magical parade, the finalists of the contest organized by Univisión walked down the runway as if they had come straight out of Disney's "Maleficient" and the surprise was for Aly, the night's third finalist, who received a scholarship from Eugenio Cobo to study at Televisa's acting school, CEA.

The second finalist was Dominican Nabila Tapia, leaving Aleyda and Josephine awaiting the audience's verdict.

Before the great moment, the stage received the presence of Pepe Aguilar who, in the company of his mariachi, sang to the two finalists, while Marisela Demontecristo, who said goodbye to her reign with emotive words.

Finally, with 38 percent of the votes, Aleyda Ortíz was crowned as Nuestra Belleza Latina 2014.
