Singer Juan Gabriel is still hospitalized at the Southern Hill in Las Vegas, where he checked in last April 15 with a serious case of pneumonia that kept him under intensive care for many days.

Recent statements made by Silvia Urquidi, a friend close to Juan Gabriel, assured that the so called "Divo of Juárez" is in constant communication with those closest to him through email, with Iván Gabriel, one of the singer's sons, being in charge of reporting on the evolution of his father's health, according to El Universal.

Silvia Urquidi denied, also, the rumors that Alberto Aguilera Valadez (Juan Gabriel's real name) suffered from a case of cancer or other diseases like diabetes or high blood pressure, as was reported by the Mexican media shortly after the singer was hospitalized.

"If they truly knew Alberto's medical history they'd know that he has always been cured with natural medicine," said Urquidi and added that "If Alberto continues to receive attention in Las Vegas is because he is getting good attention there, it is the ideal place for his rest and the quick recovery of his pneumonia."

Juan Gabriel Delays Concerts Until August

After the strong blow to this health, Juan Gabriel was forced to postpone the concerts in his tour through the United States, "Volver 2014", and his performances in Latin America. Through a press release published in the singer's official website, it was reported that the concerts in the United States will resume on September 5, with the Miami American Airlines Arena being the first venue that Juan Gabriel will perform in after his performance in Las Vegas in April.

In Latin America, Juan Gabriel will resume his activities in August, with dates in South America and Mexico, starting in Peru on August 14, moving on to Paraguay on the 16th, Tucumán, Argentina on the 18th, Chile on the 21st, Bolivia on the 23rd. In Mexico he will perform in September in Torreón, to celebrate Independence Day and will fulfill his commitments at the Palenque Fiestas de Octubre in Guadalajara on the 24th and 25th.
