Kennesaw police revealed that a shooter entered a FedEx warehouse and killed himself after injuring at least six employees.

The spokesperson for the Cobb County Police Department, Sgt. Dana Pierce, told the media that the man who attacked various employees and then commited suicide was a FedEx employee; however, authorities did not reveal further details on the attacker's identity, reported CNN.

According to the same source, those injured were taken to the Wellstar Kennstone hospital and so far one person has been reported as being in critical health as a result of the attack on Monday.

The incident happened at around 5:54 a.m. local time, when police responded to an emergency report of a shooter armed with an assault rifle and "bullets tied to his chest, like Rambo", quoted CTV News.

"He had bullets tied over his chest like Rambo, a huge assault rifle and a knife," Liza Aiken, a FedEx employee who survived the attack told CTV News.

After the situation was reported, over 100 policemen and federal agents surrounded the FedEx building on 1675 Airport Road, Kennesaw, and shortly before 9 a.m. it was confirmed that the suspect had died of a self-inflicted gunshot, according to ABC.

On its part, FedEx said this morning in a press release that the facility where the events happened is a distribution center where packages are classified and loaded on vehicles to be delivered.

"We are aware of the situation thanks to authorities. Our main concern is the safety and well-being of the members of our team, responders and other affected people," said Scott Fiedler, FedEx spokesman.
