2014 TVyNovelas Awards: Winners and All the Details of the Event in Mexico

The 2014 TVyNovelas Awards were broadcast on Sunday night from Mexico, through Univisión in the United States, a night filled with surprises and celebrities from Mexican television.

The host of the night was Mexican comedian Adrián Uribe, while Enrique Iglesias, Yuri and Mijares were in charge of delighting those present with performances.

Eric del Castillo was honored for his 20 years in Mexican television, receiving the award from his daughter, Verónica del Castillo, star of "Primer Impacto".

With tears in her eyes, actress Cynthia Klitbo received her award for Best Feminine Artist, while Ana Martín warned that she would take her time to get on the stage.

The award to Best Host went to Ana Patricia González, and the show Primer Impacto received a special acknowledgement for its 20 years on air.

One of one of the most commented-on moments of the night was when Adrián Uribe attempted to compete with Ellen DeGeneres' selfie during the Academy Awards.

The selfie only reached 12,000 retweets and about 5,000 favorites, which included many mocks in which users criticized Uribe's attempt.

The comedian did not hesitate to take the criticism in stride as a joke and shared his point of view on Twitter.

The TVyNovelas Awards are chosen by a group of experts and public voting. This ceremony acknowledges the work in the best of Latin American TV in 2013.
