The 41st annual Annie Awards have announced their nominations with Disney's "Frozen" leading the nominees.

The Disney picture was shortlisted in 10 categories including Best Animated Film, Best Directing, Best Voice Acting for Josh Gad, and Best Writing.

Other nominees for Best Animated film were "The Croods," "Monsters University," "The Wind Rises," "Ernest & Celestine," "Despicable Me 2" and "A Letter to Momo."

Among the nominees for voice acting were Steve Carrell for "Despicable Me 2," Kristen Wigg for "Despicable Me 2," Paul Giamatti for "Turbo," Billy Crystal for "Monsters University" and Terry Crews for "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2."

The animated awards also nominated "Man of Steel," "Star Trek: Into Darkness" and "Pacific Rim" for Best Animated Effect in a Live Action production.

The nominees for Best Animated Short were "Despicable Me 2 - Puppy," "Get a Horse," "Gloria Victoria," "My Mom Is an Airplane" and "The Numberlys."

This year the Annie's will also honor Steven Spielberg, Katsuhiro Otomo, Phil Tippett, and Alice Davis for career achievements and contributions to animation.

The Annie Awards are best known for predicting the winner of the Animated Award at the Academy Awards. However, recently its choices have failed to translate into Oscar wins. Winners in the last few years have included "Rango," "Wreck It Ralph," "How to Train Your Dragon," "Up" and "Kung Fu Panda."

The awards will be held on Feb. 1 at the Royce Hall on the UCLA Campus and will be hosted be Patrcik Warbutton.
