Apple Inc. has revealed the number of tablets sold during the fourth fiscal quarter of 2013, and it's an increase from 2012's figures.

According to Apple, the iPad tablets have been sold 14.1 million times during the latest quarter.

The Cupertino-based organization noted the difference of sales compared to the same quarter in 2012, and it's not a major difference. During the 2012 fourth quarter, Apple sold 14 million units.

Despite the small increase of overall iPad sales, Apple saw $37.5 billion in the quarterly revenue, and the figure is up from the $36 billion the Cupertino-based organization saw during the same period in 2012. Of the $37.5 billion, 60 percent accounted for international sales outside the United States.

According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, he's "pleased" to report the "strong finish to an amazing year" with the fourth quarter revenue. Cook added he's "excited" to go into the holidays with the new iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, iOS 7, the new iPad mini with Retina Display and the "incredibly thin and light" iPad Air, new MacBook Pros, the radical new Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks, to name a few products.

Apple's Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer stated, "We generated $9.9 billion in cash flow from operations and returned an additional $7.8 billion in cash to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases during the September quarter, bringing cumulative payments under our capital return program to $36 billion."

As Latinos Post noted, Apple is set to launch the fifth-generation 9.7-inch iPad on the Nov. 1 with the iPad Air. The new tablet will debut in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.
