They may have left Mystic Falls behind, but wherever Elijah and Klaus go, the drama will follow. The latest episode of “The Originals” was chock full of riveting developments, and there’s more on the way. It featured two fake deaths, introduced new details surrounding the Klaus’ baby, an ominous hunt for Hayley, Elijah’s wild return, and Klaus’ new strategy against Marcel, proving that the witches will play a pivotal role throughout the rest of the season.

Now that Klaus has Davine, the “Girl in New Orleans,” under his control, he might have the upperhand against his adversary. He has a powerful witch at his side. What’s there to worry about? Unfortunately, the same witch could ultimately lead to his demise. Klaus knows nothing about his new colleague. Shouldn’t he be curious as to how she came to be so powerful, or why Marcel removed her from society and locked her in a church attic when she was 10? Davina has plenty of secrets, some of which Klaus should look into before investing his trust and faith.

But Klaus doesn’t care. His endgame is power. He uses Cami to sneak Davina away from Marcel and sets up a meeting between her and Tim, a violin player with whom she attended school when she was younger and happier. When he later asks her to join him, she denies, so he throws Tim off the balcony. He then delivers the ultimatum: He will heal Tim if and only if she agrees to help him, and he won’t waste anytime in doing so.

However, Klaus won’t be the only one seeking her help. On next week’s episode, Elijah immediately tries to makes a deal with the young witch. In a brand new exclusive preview, he attempts to stop the war between the vampires and the spellcasters by offering a truce with the help of Davina, but his “ravenous hunger” may sour the deal. Check out the sneak peek over at TVLine.

“The Originals” airs Tuesday nights on The CW.
