The upcoming Miss Universe pageant will feature an array of women from various cultures who are competing for the Miss Universe Crown. The winner will be the face the organization, and will be expected to display grace and poise while engaging in commercial and charitable endeavors. Cynthia Duque wants to win the crown so she can spread her passion for helping people.

Cynthia Duque, 21, was born Cynthia Lizeth Duque Garza in Monterrey, Mexico. She won Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2012 at the grand finale of the 19th annual Nuestra Belleza Mexico, which was held at the Mesoamerican Poliforum Convention Center in the capital of Chiapas on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012.

She is currently studying image design at the Institute of NEO. She is also an instructor in Latin rhythms dancing, and acts and professionally models. She says that when she is in a public place and hears music, she can't help but dance.

Her dream job is to teach young children, because she "loves their company," according to Miss Universe.com

Duque also has a great work ethic. She began working at the age of nine to help provide for her family.

She also strongly believes in giving back. She donated one liter of her blood for a child battling cancer. Because of her blood donation, the child's health improved dramatically, and helped him in his fight against the disease.

She also believes in giving to the poor as well as the sick. "The easiest solution to poverty is for us to share a part of ourselves to those who have nothing," she said.

Duque will represent her home country at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant on Nov. 9 at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia. Viewers can watch the pageant live on Nov. 9 at 9pm ET on NBC.
