Episode two of the third season of "Once Upon a Time" will include two very intense clashes between two different sets of characters.
The next episode, titled "Lost Girl," will include flashbacks to when Charming's (Joshua Dallas) kiss awoke Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin). Of course, the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) does not take kindly to the news. New photos via TVLine show that the Evil Queen has a standoff with Snow and Charming, and Snow even swings a sword, with the Queen as her intended target.
Back in Neverland, there is a debate as to who will lead the gang through the treacherous jungle to find Henry. Someone obviously makes a bad call, because the group ends up coming face-to-face with Peter Pan and his Lost Boys.
At first, Captain Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) familiarity with Neverland will prove helpful, but only for a little while. Hook will save Charming from a dangerous situation, and will quickly realize that Neverland has changed, and not for the better.
Executive producer Edward Kitsis told Entertainment Weekly that Neverland will be used as a tool through which the characters connect with their past selves. "Our inspiration was the idea that these characters would have to return to who they were before the curse in order to [get Henry back] and we wanted to have them dig deeper into what everything means," Kitsis said. EP Adam Horowitz added, "as the season progresses, we wanted to use [Neverland] as a prism to see these characters more clearly and more deeply."
As for Neal (Michael Raymond-James) and Emma (Jennifer Morrison), they will not be reunited for awhile. Neal will not be in the upcoming episode, but episode three will take viewers back into the Enchanted Forest.
"Neal is going to, come hell or high water, get back to Neverland," Kitsis said. However, Horowitz said that there will be a "wrinkle" in their story that will soon be revealed. Neal will get help from Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), who will repay his debt to Rumple (Robert Carlyle) through Neal.
"Robin Hood's story is just beginning," Kitsis said. "We're airing in two 11-episode pods. You're going to get a little more into him in the beginning of this year, but we're definitely going to get a lot of him in the second half. He's a character we're really excited about because he's a thief, but he's a thief with honor."
The upcoming episodes will also feature the story behind Henry's adoption in episode nine, as well as the introduction of Tinkerbell and the Darlings and the sea-witch Ursula.
"Once Upon a Time" airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
