You can feel it during your walk to school. You can see it gripping to tiny blades of grass on your lawn in tiny drops of frosty dew. Autumn is settling in. Our blankets rest nestled under our chilly chins before we rest our heads. Our fans are left sullen, collecting dust in the back of our closets. Summer may be over, but the astounding beauty of fall seeps into our bones, reminding us of forgotten beauty and comfort that lingers in cool weather.

But then the cold arrives. The wind nips at our rosy cheeks and makes mundane chores like collecting the mail a nightmarish experience. Although the beauty peeks its head out on sunny days where pillowy snow blankets the landscape, the relentless, never ending cold shuts it up like a whack-a-mole. Fortunately, there’s always a silver lining. Winter television will provide a homesafe for those suffering from the cold. It’s an opportunity to snuggle under piles of blankets in front of a roaring fire while enjoying television’s best.

Fans of the hit series “Justified” are counting down the cold days until January, when the show returns for its fifth season. While 2014 may be a ways off, details surrounding new characters give fans an idea of what’s on the horizon.

Michael Rapaport, who lost his spot on the new fall sitcom “The Millers,” landed a role in the upcoming season of “Justified,” TVLine reports. Rapaport will play Dale Crowe Jr., the good looking and charismatic keystone of a new white-trash crime family, the Crowes, in Florida. On the books, the Crowes run a gator farm, but as “Justified” fans should expect, their real dealings involve drugs and murder. Alongside Dale are his sister Wendy, the public face of the family, and his younger brother Danny, a romantic sociopath, an interesting dynamic that should make for an exciting season.

“Justified” returns to FX in January.
