LSU Tigers (4-0) will attempt to further move up in the rankings, but they have to overcome first the Georgia Bulldogs (2-1) on Saturday at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia.

Head coach Les Miles and the Tigers are starting to make their case as a solid contender this season after winning their first four assignments in convincing fashion.

The Tigers opened their season with a 37-27 win over No. 20 TCU Horned Frogs and dominated both UAB 56-17 and Kent State 45-13. Last week, LSU went on to beat Auburn Tigers 35-21 to kick start their SEC season on a winning note.

Meanwhile, things are looking good as of late for the Bulldogs, who defeated then No.6 South Carolina Gamecocks 41-30 and North Texas Mean Green 45-21. Their heartbreaking 38-35 loss to Clemson in the season-opener was indeed a big blow to their BCS championship aspirations, but a victory against LSU will surely put them back in contention.

Crunching the Numbers

LSU is ranked 44th in the nation in passing yards (259.3 yards) and 35th overall in rushing yards (220.8 yards). The Tigers are prolific as an offensive team, scoring at least 35 points in their first four games.

In fact, Miles' team is averaging 43.3 points per game, which is the 16th most explosive offense in the nation. The Tigers are also impressive with their defense as they allowed opponents to score an average of 19.5 points per game.

On the other hand, Georgia boasts one of the most potent passing game in college football, covering an average of 360.7 yards per game (9th overall). Their rushing game is also solid with an average of 213.3 rushing yards while scoring 40.3 per outing. However, in order to win against LSU, Georgia has to find ways to lessen their points against average of 29.7 points - which ranked 84th in the nation.

Quotes from the Huddle

The Bulldogs will become the fourth team to face three Top 10 contenders in their fourth game of the season. However, Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray is still upbeat about the opportunity to test the very best early this season.

"Everybody says, 'Oh man, that must stink.' But I think it's fun. I think everybody on this team thinks it's fun," Murray told ESPN. "It's fun preparing for these big type of games. It's fun playing in them. It adds a lot more excitement to the week."

Meanwhile, Zach Mettenberger is also preparing his return at Sanford Stadium following his unceremonious exit in 2010. Nevertheless, Mettenberger appears to have already moved on to the next chapter of his career and will treat Saturday's game against the Bulldogs as an ordinary match.

"My life has ended up here at LSU and I couldn't be happier with it," Mettenberger said. "I'm proud to call myself a Tiger. I'm just excited to go into another SEC opponent's stadium and go in there and get a win."
