"Modern Family" star Sofía Vergara is set to appear on Friday's episode of "The Queen Latifah Show." In a sneak peak of the interview, the Colombian star talks about the latest trends with a fashion show of her Kmart line, introduces her niece Claudia who she calls her "mini-me" and tells Queen Latifah why she decided not to lose her accent.

The 41-year-old actress recalled how she tried to change her accent when she first arrived to Los Angeles. "At the beginning I thought, when I moved to Los Angeles to Hollywood, I'm like 'How hard can it be? I mean I don't understand how Penelope Cruz or Salma Hayek haven't changed their accent so I'm gonna do it!' I hired a teacher, a speech coach, and for months I spent so much money because they charge you by the hour and you don't need one hour a day, you need like three hours a day four times a week," said Vergara.

"So I was losing so much money and then I was doing horrible in the auditions because I was showing up there and all I could think of was the word that is coming [makes sound] and the tongue behind the teeth...so the acting was horrible, I didn't get any jobs until I said 'You know what, I'm gonna start just relaxing and do, you know, use what I have' and that's it," she stated.

Vergara's 21-year-old niece, Claudia Daniella, will also appear on the show, modeling her aunt's Kmart line. "She's wearing the tights and of course, if you're not that skinny, because Danielle now, she's very skinny lately. I've been telling her she has to eat a little bit more, 'cause she moved to New York so the excitement doesn't let her eat," said the actress, who used to be a model herself.

The Colombian beauty is the highest paid Latin actress in Hollywood, according to Voxxi.  Vergara made $19 million in a year, thanks to her taking part in ABC's hit comedy series "Modern Family," alongside with her clothing line and the commercials she has starred in.
