The first posters for "Divergent" have been released.
Summit released two one-sheets that feature both Theo James and Shailene Woodley. The posters also show Woodley and James sporting tattoos as their "Divergent" characters Tris and Four.
The upcoming movie is one of the most-anticipated movies of next year. Additionally, it is being marketed as Summit's next big franchise and if the film does well at the box office Summit Entertainment will prepare the sequel "Insurgent."
"Divergent" takes place in a future world where people are divided into factions based on personality. When teenager Tris is warned she is divergent and will never fit into any one group, she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all divergents.
The studio is slowly trying to create buzz for the movie. First, during the MTV's Video Music Awards, Summit unveiled the teaser trailer for "Divergent." Next, the company released two featurettes of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast. The previews all also showed action packed sequences.
"Divergent" is based on the Veronica Roth novel of the same name, and director Neil Burger promises the film will be a close adaptation of the novel. "I added quite a few things back from the script that was first presented to me. I was like, 'Where's the zip-line? Where's Christina being hung over the chasm?' So we worked those back in, which the movie is stuffed full of events, but they're events that we love from the book. Obviously a movie is a little bit different than a book and certain things will be changed and people will be like, 'Where's the...' but mostly we have it in," said Burger.
Summit is slated to release movie on March 21, 2014. The film also stars Miles Teller, Kate Winslet, Jai Courtney, Maggie Q, Ashley Judd, Tony Goldwyn and Ray Stevenson.
