Daniel Craig wants to have some humor in the upcoming James Bond 24.

The "Skyfall" actor told Vulture that he wanted to bring back some of the character's wit that was seen in the older films. He said, "Hopefully we'll reclaim some of the old irony. And make sure it doesn't become pastiche. I can't do shtick; I'm not very good at it, unless it kind of suddenly makes sense. Does that make sense? I sometimes wish I hammed it up more, but I just can't do it very well, so I don't do it."

The upcoming James Bond 24 film is slated to be directed by Sam Mendes who directed "Skyfall." The director was chosen a month ago after many speculated that the Brit would return to helm the followup. When the announcement was made, Mendes commented, "I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honour all my theatre commitments, the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24. I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time"

"Skyfall" became the most successful Bond movie ever made. It grossed $1 billion worldwide and received five Academy Award nominations, taking home two awards. It also scored rave reviews with a 92 perent aggregate score.

Craig is best known for his dark and brooding turn as James Bond. He introduced the character in 2006 in the hit film "Casino Royale" and later returned to the role in 2008's "Quantum of Solace." Craig is currently signed on for James Bond 25.

James Bond 24 will be released in 2015 in November.
