Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki hopes her dog will have an opportunity to book a play date with the new canine pet of world no.1 Novak Djokovic, the dog-lover and former top-ranked female netter said on Tuesday.

In an interview with Tennis World, the 23-year old Wozniacki explained her love affair with Bruno, adding that she always tried to bring her dog wherever she travels.

"(His name is) Bruno. He's a Pomeranian. He is two kilos. He's a little fluff ball and I love him. He's the best. He's always happy. No matter if you've had a bad day or great day, he doesn't care," Wozniacki told Tennis News.

"He runs up to you and wants to lick your face, and it's like he's funny, and he travels quite a bit, whenever I can take him. I haven't had him for too long, but, yeah, I will bring him whenever I can. It's great to have him around," she added,

When asked if she's going to have non-gluten diet for her dog, Wozniacki said she won't do it for Bruno as she wants her dog to enjoy everything while he's still alive.

"No. My dog is only having one life and I want him to enjoy it. Whether that means he's going to become a little bit chubby, then that be it. I'd rather have him a little bit chubby and be happy than too skinny and miserable."

"Novak came up to me yesterday and said, Jelena and I got a new dog, another one. They just bought one three days ago. Maybe we'll have some play dates. It's like our little kids, you know," Wozniacki said.

The Danish tennis star advanced to the second round of the US Open following her 6-2, 7-5 victory over Duan Yingying of China.
