Stars from both the showbiz and sporting industry will gather in Los Angeles for a night of fun, entertainment, and recognition of the very best athletes of the year. It's the 2013 ESPY Awards and it will all happen tonight at the Nokia Theatre, starting at 9:00 p.m. ET.

30 Rock star and hardcore sports fan John Hamm will be hosting the event. The list of presenters is impressive as well with award-winning actor and director Ben Affleck and four-time NBA MVP LeBron James handing out two key awards throughout the night.

James is the favorite to win his second consecutive ESPY Best Male Athlete award after leading the Miami Heat to their second straight championship against the San Antonio Spurs in seven pulsating games. Trying to steal the show from King James are Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers, NFL MVP Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings, and USA swimming legend Michael Phelps, who set the record as the most decorated athlete in the history of the Olympic Games last year.

Meanwhile, the competition will be tighter for the ESPY Best Female Athlete award with Serena Williams appearing as the frontrunner for the award after completing a rare Golden Slam with a victory in the women's singles at the London Olympics. On the other hand, Gold medal winner gymnast Gabby Douglas, swimmer Missy Franklin, and WNBA first overall pick Brittney Griner are all deserving to take the award.

Here is the complete list of awards and the respective nominees for the 2013 ESPY Awards.
