While everyone prepares for the 'The Dark Knight Rises' to debut, director Zack Snyder at Comic-Con gave us a surprise by announcing that the first trailer to 'Man of Steel' would be released.

The teaser of the next Superman movie will run as a movie preview on the opening day of " The Dark Knight Rises" on July 20. The director's exact words to the audiences were, "There's a little movie that comes out next weekend and we have a teaser in front of that."

An unveiled poster of the upcoming movie shows that unlike 2006's 'Superman Returns', the latest Superman reboot will showcase a darker tone reminiscent of the Batman movies by Christopher Nolan. Of course, this may have to do with the fact that Christopher Nolan is the producer for Snyder's latest endeavor.

During the annual Comic-Con, Warner Bros also unveiled details on the the reboot to Superman.

According to studio executives, fans have been skeptical about the release after the last reboot in 2006 failed to meet expectations. They have also questioned the choice of Snyder as the director. Snyder was responsible for the ire of fan-boys with "Watchmen" and incited the wrath of critics who universally bashed his "Sucker Punch." However, the prescence of Nolan's participation in the new movie, the man behind the Batman trilogy and "Inception," certainly adds a great deal of confidence and comfort.

During the press conference, Warner Bros. released a different teaser which made fans a bit more positive. According to Indiewire, the film seems to be very much in the Nolan, 'Batman Begins' mold. Another aspect that was noted about the film was that in terms of tonality, the film seems to suggest a more realistic Superman, a characteristic of Nolan movies.

One of the questions that was asked by fans was whether John William's iconic score would be used. Snyder stated, "When we started working on the movie, the thing we decided was the comic character existed. The movies are their own thing. We had to act as if no movies had been made." As a result Snyder decided to hire Hans Zimmer, the composer behind 'Batman Begins', 'The Dark Knight' and 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

Responding to concerns for the fans Snyder stated that he wanted to bring a modern Superman that everyone could identify with.

'Man of Steel' hits theaters on June 14th, 2013 and stars Henry Cavil, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, and Kevin Costner.

As mentioned above, the first trailer is slated for release this Thursday, July 20, as a movie preview to 'The Dark Knight Rises' which stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Jospeh Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, and Tom Hardy.
