Charlie Sheen will use his birth name, Carlos Estevez, in the credits of the movie Machete Kills, according to USMagazine. A screenshot of the film that will be released in the U.S. in September was recently made public, where Sheen can be seen holding a gun next to a statement that reads: "And introducing Carlos Estevez".

But the star told Univision, "I don't wake up feeling Latino. I'm a white guy in America," he explained. "I was born in New York and grew up in Malibu."

Charlie Sheen is the son of actor Martin Sheen who has publicly spoken about his galician decent and hispanic roots on numerous occasions. Martin Sheen's birth name is Ramon Antonio Gerardo Estevez.

Charlie Sheen followed his father's path and changed his name to the more American sounding name of Charlie Sheen to avoid confusion with his uncle who was also called Carlos Estevez. He has used the name ever since and his film credit in Machete Kills will be the firs time he ever uses his birth name.

Charlie Sheen will make his return to blockbuster films with Machete Kills which is the second part of a trilogy. The movie has an all star ensemble that includes Michelle Rodriguez, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Demian Bichir, Alexa Vega, Cuba Gooding Jr . and Mel Gibson. The film is directed by Latino director Robert Rodriguez. The film is the follow up to 2010's Machete, the story of a mexican avenger out to fight drug lords and corrupt politicians.

Charlie Sheen has had tumultuous years. He was fired from the hit series Two And A Half Men after a very public disagreement with noted producer Chuck Lorre. Sheen made comments about Lorre that led to accusations of anti-semitism and his eventual parting from the show. Public scrutiny on his life and behaviour soon followed and many questioned if the actor would even work again, given his then history of partying and alcohol abuse.

Sheen managed to come back with a new hit series, Anger Management and seems to have tamed his personal problems with a new work ethic. He most recently starred in the low budget film "A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III", which was poorly received by critics.
