The rumored behind the scenes stories on "Today" continues.

As Latinos Post reported, Ann Curry has allegedly asked NBC to dismiss her from her contract in order to join CNN for a primetime show. CNN's new president, Jeff Zucker, a former head at NBC, has reportedly offered Curry the 8 p.m. EST timeslot currently occupied by one of the airings of "Anderson Cooper 360."

Curry was fired as co-host of the NBC morning show, some considered it as scapegoating, as "Today" saw decline ratings against ABC morning show "Good Morning America" last spring.

According to Radar Online, Matt Lauer has told NBC executives to let Curry move on from the peacock network and head to CNN.

"Matt thinks that NBC should let Ann out of her contract so that she can take the CNN gig," the source told Radar. "He can't imagine why the bosses are dragging their feet and are at a stalemate. It would allow Ann to get back on the air on a regular basis and everyone can move on from the debacle."

TMZ had reported people have been screaming at Lauer on the streets on Manhattan, blaming him for Curry's departure from "Today." However, Radar Online's source noted a different side of Lauer from what's been reported online.

"Matt only wishes Ann the best and thinks it's for the best if she were to take a job at another network," Radar added.

The alleged talks come as Al Roker spoke about both Curry and Lauer to "Extra." Roker said it has been painful to not see Curry every morning but the reports about Lauer are "unfair attacks" and lies.
