Tonight, one of 53 contestants will be crowned Miss America 2013.

All 50 states along with Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Washington D.C. will be represented as one lady is hoping to succeed Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler.

Kaeppeler won the 2012 competition representing Miss Wisconsin 2011. She won over Miss Oklahoma Betty Thompson, Miss New York Kaitlin Monte, Miss Arizona Jennifer Sedler, and Miss California Noelle Freeman.

Can Wisconsin pull another win with Kate Gorman? Or can history be made with Miss Montana?

Representing Miss Montana is Alexis Wineman. The state of Montana has never won the Miss America crown but that isn't the reason why Wineman could make history. Wineman is breaking ground as the first contestant with autism.

Perhaps Miss South Carolina Ali Rogers has what it takes to win the crown, after all, she did win the Lifestyle and Fitness preliminary competition on Night One, winning a $1,000 scholarship.

The Miss America pageant touts itself as among the nation's largest scholarship providers for young women with $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance made available last year. The winner of Miss America does not get the entire prize as portions of the scholarship are made available to over 12,000 other women who compete in state and local competitions.
