Despite a solid launch, Wii U owners are anxiously awaiting the next batch of titles to be released on their new console. Among them is the highly anticipated "Pikmin 3."

The title was showcased during the 2012 E3 press conference, but little else has been revealed about the upcoming title. According to Nintendo World Report, series creator and Nintendo icon Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the new title will attempt to be more "stressful."

According to the report, the initial aim of "Pikmin 2" was to create a more relaxed environment under which gamers could strategize. For example, the time restraints were dropped despite being a major component for the first "Pikmin." Miyamoto revealed that he was against this approach in the second game and was intending on making sure that the stress elements of the first title returned for the third installment.

"Our main aim in Pikmin 2 was to get rid of any stress...so that it would be very user-friendly," says Miyamoto. "I myself couldn't agree with that direction perfectly." Miyamoto notes that the pressure put on players in the first game was intentional and helped to make the game more strategic.

"Pikmin 2" was last released in 2004 and the new title started production back in 2008. Reports indicate that "Pikmin 3" will be released in the first quarter of 2013. The game will implement two control schemes; one with the Wiimote and nunchuk and another with the Wii U GamePad.
