Although the precise number of units sold have not been released yet, the Nokia Lumia 920 has been selling out, but the Finnish-based company could be looking to the future already.
Nokia is reportedly planning a new line of the Lumia series while still utilizing the Windows Phone mobile operating system, and it could see a release date this year.
According to The Verge, sources stated Nokia plans to use an aluminum construction for at least one of the upcoming Lumia Windows Phone smartphone. The switch to aluminum comes from the usual polycarbonate body the current Lumia devices use.
A name has been given to the new device, although it is subject to change. Codenamed the "Catwalk," the future Lumia smartphone will be thinner and lighter than the current Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 device.
The switch to aluminum is a familiar concept for the Nokia brand as it has been used for their Symbian 3 device N8. The new phone could put it in competition against the iPhone 5.
The Lumia 920 is still rolling out worldwide with recent launches in China and soon India.
