Finland will look to continue its momentum after a dominant win over Latvia while Czech Republic will look to make up for their poor showing against Sweden.

The Finnish jumped out to an early lead when Artturi Lehkonen scored 1:54 into the match. Latvia tied the match under seven minutes later, but Miro Aaltonen made sure to erase Latvia's hope by scoring two goals to end the first . In the second period Markus Granlun scored at 13:02 to extend the lead to three and Rasmus Ristolainen added another tally right before the period ended to secure a 5-1 lead. Latvia held Finland scoreless to end the half, but was unable to add any goals of their own. Aaltonen ended the match with two goals and one assist while Armia and Ristolainen ended with two points on the night.

The Czech Republic started off their tournament in the complete opposite manner. The Czech gave up two early goals in the first period which essentially sealed their fate. They gave up two more goals in the second and third period and managed to salvage some pride with just six seconds left on the clock. The goal was scored by Lukas Sedlak.
