Android updates are slow and hard to come by, especially if you don't own a Google Nexus device. Electronics manufacturer Samsung has been fairly busy attempting to keep its devices up to date, and it looks like Sony is too.

Making good on its promise, Sony has released a more detailed plan in a blog post regarding Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upates for its Xperia smartphones. From the looks of it, 10 Xperia smartphones are set to receive Jelly Bean in 2013.

The first smartphones to be upgraded will be the Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V. These handsets will begin to receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in February or March 2013.

After that, Xperia P, Xperia J and Xperia go will receive their Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates starting at the end of March. The last four handsets, the Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia ion and Xperia acro S, will be getting Jelly Bean soon after.

The release schedule falls in line with an earlier Sony statement back in October.

"Our latest models, Xperia T and Xperia TX are shipping across global markets as you read this post, and Xperia V is on the way shortly - these smartphones will begin to receive the upgrade to Jelly Bean from mid-Q1 2013," said Sony. "Next up, we can confirm the global versions of Xperia S, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia P, Xperia go and Xperia J will be upgraded to Android 4.1* - we will be back with detailed timings for these in due course."

In the same October post, Sony explained that it will not be developing or rolling out a Jelly Bean update for any Xperia smartphones released before 2012.
