The iPhone 5 is perhaps 2012's most sought after gadget, and now bargain hunters can nab Apple's latest smartphone for only $127 at Walmart, a discount of $72.

The mega-retailer has also slashed iPhone 4S prices to $47, and fourth-generation iPad costs to $399 and thrown a $30 iTunes card to sweeten the pot, according to SlashGear. The price cuts will continue for 30 days, and are only available in stores.

Best Buy is also offering a deal of its own, and has taken $50 of each respective model of the iPhone 5. Unlike Walmart, these discounts can be claimed online. The 16GB device is set at $149.99, the 32GB at $249, and the 64GB at $349.99.

Over at Target, a December 16 sale will lower the Virgin Mobile prepaid 16GB iPhone 4S to $399.

The iPhone 5 is feather-light and takes the record for the thinnest smartphone Apple has ever made. The device shows up the iPhone 4S with a 4-inch screen that displays at 1136 x 640 pixels, a brand new A6 chip, and an ultra-thin touch pad that sharpens feedback to user input..

At normal prices, consumers who opt for a two-year contract with Sprint, AT&T, or Verizon have the option of a 16GB iPhone 5 at $199, a 32GB at $299.99, and a 64GB at $399.99. Unlocked phones sans-contract cost $649, 749, and $849 for each respective size.
