HBO's medieval fantasy TV series "Game of Thrones" is the most pirated show of 2015.

According to a report by Torrent Freak, "Game of Thrones" is the most pirated show in television for four years in a row. "The Walking Dead" ranks second place while "The Big Bang Theory" takes the third spot.

The HBO hit TV series has the "honor" of being the most downloaded show for four years now. The report stated that there are approximately 14.4 million downloads of "Game of Thrones" via BitTorrent. The epic 2015 "Game of Thrones" season finale beat all their competition by landslide.

In addition to the report, more than half of the total downloads happened during the first week after the HBO series was aired. "Game of Thrones" being the top downloaded show for the year didn't come as a surprise because earlier this year, a torrent file of the show was shared simultaneously by 258,131 peers.

Even with attempts to stop piracy, there is no sign that piracy rate is declining. In fact, the number of downloads for popular shows continues to rise, even more than the number of viewers in the United States.

For 2015, "Game of Thrones" was listed with 14.4 million downloads while "The Walking Dead" had an estimated 6.9 million downloads. This is followed by The Big Bang Theory, Arrow, The Flash, Mr. Robot, Vikings, Supergirl, The Blacklist and Suits.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 will be back in April 2016. Fans have been looking forward to  this ever since the release of the show's poster featuring Jon Snow. Many fans are still speculating that Snow will rise from the dead after the season 5 finale that left fans all around the world in shock.

According to an article from Vine, there are also reports that the show's director might limit showing sexual violence for the next season.

"The show depicts a brutal world where horrible things happen. They did not want to be too overly influenced by that (criticism) but they did absorb and take it in, and it did influence them in a way," Jeremy Podeswa, director of two episodes in season 6 stated.

The director also explained that although many scenes were brutal and challenging for some viewers, it was important on his part to handle the scenes as sensitively as possible.

Meanwhile, it was reported that "The Winds of Winter" will be released in the middle of the sixth season. George R.R. Martin said that he is committed to finishing the book and even cancelled convention appearances and interviews just to stay on track.
