Apple’s much rumored budget-friendly device to be known as the iPhone 6c continues to rumble and if the calls are correct, we might just see the successor of the iPhone 5c as early as next month.

The thing about the iPhone 6c is that speculations about its release have ramped a bit since rumors tied up to the colored variant came out.

It was initially mentioned to be coming out around the middle of 2016 and then bumped up largely to the first quarter of 2016.

Latest reports from Neurogadget continue to whittle down the waiting time and this time, the belief is that the iPhone 6c will be unveiled in January and be ready for shipping by February. Fact or fiction?

Regarded as something not expected to break sales records, the budget-friendly device is more of an extension for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

It will sport a smaller 4-inch screen and may come out without striking features that the current crop of iPhone 6s series carries.

That includes a device coming without 3D Touch but will instead come with Touch ID and support for Apple Pay.

A distinct feature it will carry is that it will no longer be something shielded in plastic but instead of metal. It will continue to come in various colors as the iPhone 5c.

With regards to the power, it will rely on from within, the iPhone 6c will allegedly bank on an A9 chip and tote an 8 MP main camera and a 1.2 MP front-facing shooter.

While it is believed that the iPhone 6c may not fare well, the pricing for it could shed a different story. As mentioned via the Daily Mail, the iPhone 6c could likely between $400 to $500.

It will be more or less $150 to $250 cheaper than the iPhone 6s 16 GB version and hopefully, the pricing standpoint can rack in some sales for folks who find the current line of iPhones a bit hard on the wallet.

Given those gathered information, the timing of its release comes into question. Would it be wise to unveil the iPhone 6c this early and perhaps barely a month after the Holidays?

Then again it could be all part of the company’s strategy as far as early releases for new devices.

In a previous post, we did mention that LG and Samsung are also rumored to be revealing their next line of devices in the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5

With the 2016 Mobile World Congress just around the corner, it could be Apple’s way of keeping its brand afloat until it goes full blast with the iPhone 7 which is expected to debut in September 2016.
