Video game publisher, Activision, has announced its upcoming Downloadable Content (DLC) map pack for its critically acclaimed first person shooter game, "Call of Duty: Black Ops III."

Making the announcement at the Activision Games Blog to kick off the PlayStation Experience 2015 in San Francisco, the video game publisher revealed that their first of the four planned DLC map packs will be "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening," which will feature four new multiplayer maps.

The four new upcoming maps include Skyjacked, Rise, Splash, and Gauntlet.

According to the report by Game Rant, Skyjacked might be the remake of the "Black Ops 2" map hijacked, since map packs contains at least one map remake from the previous installments of the game. Hence, the gaming news outlet speculated that Skyjacked will feature a "futuristic flying spaceship" setting, taking the superyacht setting in hijacked into the air.

Additionally, the Game Rant report cited that Rise might feature a construction area in a snowy setting, while Splash, as the name suggests, might involve a water park complete with slides and pools.

The gauntlet map, on the other hand, is hard to determine. According to Game Rant, Gauntlet might be a map that consists of multiple environments that will be randomly selected or automatically changed.

Besides the four new maps, the upcoming DLC will also feature the next chapter for the Zombies saga, "Der Eisendrachen."

Game Rant added that since Activision teased that there are more things coming, it is safe to assume that weapons skin and some other multiplayer content will be included when the DLC is released.

As of present time, there is no official release date announced for the Awakening DLC map pack. However, the said DLC will first be exclusive for 30 days on the PlayStation 4, before coming to PC, Xbox One, and other platforms.

On the other hand, along with the DLC reveal, Activision also announced that PlayStation will be the "presenting partner" of the inaugural season of "Call of Duty World League," which will begin on Friday next week with the Pre-season qualifiers set in Los Angeles, Cologne, and Sydney. The said event will pool players for a chance to win the $3 million prize.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" is already available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
