Anticipation and eagerness continue to hound the next device from Samsung in the Samsung Galaxy S7 which many believe will be debuting by January, 2016 at the earliest.

Samsung normally unveils its new line of devices at a special Unpacked event before the Mobile World Congress and the understanding is that this practice will continue moving forward.

Hence, it makes the Unpacked event scheduled for February 21, 2016 a more realistic date to see the debut of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge as long as the Korean company stays the course.

With its coming almost imminent in the coming months, what is there to expect for the Samsung Galaxy S7?

The latest word on the design of the Samsung Galaxy S7 hints that there will be minimal changes on the outside for the said device. Such was revealed recently, a move which is seen as one of the reasons why there was initial word that the Galaxy S7 will not cost a bundle.

"As the S6 and S6 Edge represented progress, the S7 will have improvements both in picture quality, performance and other some new features. But because smartphones have already been commoditized, you don't need to spend more on a surface overhaul," according to a source via the Korea Times.

It remains to be seen if such would affect the consumer acceptance for the Samsung Galaxy S7 though the key changes will be done on the inside.

The so-called little change as Samsung put it includes seeing the next device sporting a faster and powerful processor such as the much talked about Exynos 8890 SoC which will be reportedly offered regions outside the U.S. and China according to Phone Arena.

For the U.S. and China regions, it is believed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will instead feature a Snadragon 820 chipset.

Aside from that, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will likely sport a better camera which was somehow hinted above. If so, it could be tied up with earlier belief that it will sport a 12 MP (or better) main camera.

Other than that, there were other rumoured specs brought out in the open. The most recent one was that plan to bring back the microSD card expansion slot as reported by HDBlog.it.

Though the latest word is that there would be no major changes on the outside, could this mean that the rumoured magnesium alloy body is not happening as well?

Whatever the final product is, such will be known in a couple of months when Samsung finally ends the suspense and officially bring the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge out in the open.
