Fans of “Red Dead Redemption” will be thrilled to know that Rockstar Games is getting closer to announcing the release of the sequel soon. “Red Dead Redemption 2” will reportedly launch sometime in 2016.

The game developer previously stated that they are not in a rush to come up with a sequel and were grateful for the huge interest that fans had for their titles. However, one source shared to Cyberland that the sequel is already in the works and fans should be looking forward to an official announcement very soon.

Rockstar is said to focus on developing “Red Dead Redemption 2” and the game might become available in October 2016. The release date might be accurate, provided that Rockstar Games does not experience any issues during the course of creation. There are reports that the next game will be developed by Take-Two Interactive, the owner of Rockstar Games.

Karl Slatoff, President of Take-Two, stated that they currently have a lot of projects and the team will be making an official announcement on when the games will launch. Fans are hoping that “Red Dead 2” will be among the titles slated for release next. Slatoff said that they will feature new intellectual properties and offerings from their established franchises. Strauss Zelnich, CEO of Take-Two, also shared that “Red Dead” will become a franchise project, so it is certain that there will be an installment.

During a Reddit Q&A session, Danny Ross, a former employee at Rockstar, suggested that the studio will be releasing the sequel to “Red Dead Redemption” next. He provided a coded response, which many believed referred to the title of the upcoming game. Before, a Reddit user, AnonDN1978, also leaked that the title will be “Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West,” and will feature three playable characters in the same setting as the original game.

“Really? Dumbass. Really? Two.” Ross stated. Many thought that the first letters of his answer were clues to the title – “RDR2.”

GamePur initiated a poll in March 2015, asking fans whether they would like to see “Red Dead Redemption Remastered” or “Red Dead Redemption 2” next for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The sequel was voted by a huge margin. Fans have been asking about the next installment for several months already. PlayStation Experience 2015 is drawing near, so there might be a huge announcement from Rockstar soon.

More updates and details on “Red Dead Redemption 2” are expected in the coming weeks.
