The November 19 winter finale of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" ended badly and left viewers, especially of the fans of characters Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), hanging.

In what was supposed to be the biggest moment of the midseason finale, Alex proposed to Jo but was not given an answer when the episode ended, The Hollywood Life reported.

Unfortunately, the timing of Alex' proposal was off as Jo was then trying to dump him due to the fact that the he was acting secretive and strange with Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).

However, little that Jo knows that Alex was talking to Meredith about the engagement ring he bought for her -- the reason why Alex is shutting her out.

Hence, with the episode ending in a cliffhanger, fans will need to wait for the next episode in February to find out if Jo will listen to Alex' explanation and say yes to his proposal or just totally breakup with her man.

Moreover, another revelation in the finale which made fans raise new theories is the clues that would connect the relationship between Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) and Owen Hunt (Kevin Mckidd).

According to the report by Entertainment Weekly (EW), the massive fire in the finale that injured the firefighter boyfriend of Owen's mother Evelyn (Debra Mooney) paved the way for the latter to make an appearance to the hospital. This event led to the scene where Owen's mother embraces Riggs who then called her "ma."

As mentioned by the report, this events led to the discovery that Owen had a sister. Thus, the entertainment news outlet furthered that the reason why Owen hate Riggs might be something that relates to his sister who, presumably, had a romantic relationship with Riggs.

"That definitely seems to be the assumption, but the details are very sparse at this point. They were clearly somehow connected through family and some relationship with the sister," Martin Henderson said in the interview with EW.

"Some people were saying that I killed the sister, or maybe I got the sister pregnant and ran off and left her, ran off with another woman. Some people say I was operating on her and she died. I've heard all sorts of theories. It's all very vague at this point," the actor added.

As mentioned by the Hollywood Life, although the midseason ending answers some questions, it just led to the creation of more questions which would hopefully be answered when the show returns on February 11, 2016.
