According to rumors, the Huawei Mate 8 will arrive in three versions. A new photo of a handset alleged to be the Mate 8 recently surfaced, which featured a design that is quite similar to the Huawei Mate S.

GSM Arena revealed that the new image featured a design with elements similar to the Huawei Mate S, although there is no confirmation that the phone is truly the Mate 8. Only the back of the phone was shown, presenting a thin metallic design. The device also had a round rear camera, dual-LED flash and a round fingerprint scanner below, similar to the Google Nexus 6P. Phone Arena also noted that there is a microUSB port at the base of the handset, as well as dual speakers on both sides of the port. Overall, the phone seemed to be quite slim. One photo showed the back of the device with the text, “China Mobile 4G LTE,” which suggests that it will at least feature the connective capability.

GSM Arena wrote that the Huawei Mate 8 is said to arrive in three models. The first will have a 6.2-inch display, the second will have a 6-inch screen, and the third will have a 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch screen. Live images of the versions have already surfaced before, but it is the first time that the fingerprint scanner was seen.

The Huawei Mate 8 is expected to be a powerful device, featuring a QHD display, a 16-megapixel rear shooter, the new Kirin 950 chipset, 3GB of 4GB of RAM and a maximum internal storage capacity of 128GB. The smaller models might feature a 1080p display and less internal storage. All three versions are expected to run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Based on another GSM Arena report, the 6.0-inch model may also feature a pixel resolution of 1440x2560 with 490ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, a quad-core 2.0GHz Cortex A57 + quad-core 2.4GHz Cortex-A72, a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, at least 32GB of internal memory, a 20.7-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel secondary shooter, and a non-removable Li-Po battery. The device will most likely include a variety of connective capabilities and pre-installed apps. The Mate 8 may also come in at least three colors – Amber gold, Obsidian black and Moonlight silver.

The Huawei Mate 8 is expected to release on Nov. 26, 2015. Huawei has yet to make an official confirmation. More updates and details on the specifications and variants are expected soon.
