Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy E7 users can now update to the latest Android Lollipop version.

According to the report by Neurogadget, the default Operating System (OS) for the Galaxy S3 is the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich which can be upgraded to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

However, through the release of the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 custom ROM for Galaxy S3, users of the gadget can now update their device through the Dirty Unicorn firmware.

While Neurogadet hinted of using a TWRP tool in order to make a back up, the release by Daily Sun Knoxville highlighted the step-by-step procedure of installing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Nonetheless, it is not only the Samsung Galaxy S3 that will see an opportunity for OS update. The release by Neurogadget emphasized that Samsung Galaxy E7, which is running with Android Kitkat, will also be able to get the updated Android Lollipop OTA update.

According to Verizon Wireless, through the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, users will experience an "all-out overhaul" from the Android Kitkat.

The mobile website described the OS as "delightful to browse" especially with the depth and smoothness if offers, resulting to a better navigation. This comes along an easier setup and switch options that enables users to easily restore previous settings manually.

Another noteworthy feature of the Android Lollipop is its capability to sync with TV, smartwatches, tablets and even in one's car. Thus, allowing the user to resume watching, listening, and even browsing to the smartphone.

The Lollipop also boasts a tight security that ensures the privacy of sensitive data and protects the phone from Malware through Security-Enhanced Linux Software.

Other security features include Android Smart Lock, Multi User Guest Modes and Screen Pinning.

Besides the above-mentioned benefits, the Lollipop also have a new notification system such as the priority Mode that lets the user know which messages, calls, or notifications are important; the lock screen notifications that enables the user to make feedback from the lock screen and; the Interruptions subside that allows the user to select priorities and make a timed notification system.

According to Tampa Bay Review, consumers can expect "minor bug fixes" in the update package for the Android Lollipop.

Moreover, it also pointed that with the Android Lollipop being available to devices that previously are not available for it, the possibility of Google's latest mobile OS Android Marshmallow is very likely especially with the fact that Google is planning to run the latest OS in 95 percent of all android devices before 2015 ends.
