Christian Bale is currently promoting his new movie, "The Big Short" with co-stars Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt and Steve Carell. The film had just premiered on Thursday on closing night of the AFI Festival in Hollywood California. However, people had a completely different movie in mind to ask Bale - is he appearing in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice?" After all, fans could still not let go of the fact that he starred in four Batman films and that Ben Affleck is now donning the cape.

Fans had found hope once again that Bale is still Batman when a fan from Brazil floated the theory that Affleck may be Batman but he is not Bruce Wayne. Writing for the Brazilian site Total Spoilers, the fan said that Affleck is Deathstroke aka Slate Wilson, another superhero who also became Batman in the "Outsider" comic book. The strongest claim the fan had in support of this theory is that the Bat Suit to be worn by Affleck is similar to the Batsuit worn by Deathstroke in the comic book. The fan also noted that Affleck's most memorable line from the current trailer "Do you bleed? You will" is very similar to a famous quote from Dethastroke - "I will make you bleed - which he spoke in the game injustice Gods Among Us. The fan went on saying that marketing for "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" was intentionally misleading to hide this incredible plot twist.

Bale's answer when cornered by ET during "The Big Short" premiere was blunt: "I think it's pretty clear that Ben [Affleck] is playing Batman now." Probed more if he will play Bruce Wayne, he said "No, it's not happening."

E! Online also took the opportunity to get his opinion about Affleck being the new Batman. Asked what he thinks of him playing the superhero, Bale said "I'm not thinking anything. I'm sort of totally oblivious to it - I've removed myself but, um, you know, yeah, I mean, great... Im' happy to have done it and I'm happy to see what someone else does with it.

"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" comes to theaters March 25, 2016. The synopsis posted on the official Warner Bros website reads: "Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of her it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."

The film is directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio based on a screenplay by David Goyer. Gal Gadot will star as Diana Prince and Wonder Woman. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also be in the film. Jesse Eisenberg will star as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred. Holy Hunter will also be in the film and Jason Momoa will be appearing in a brief role as Aquaman.
