A terrorist attack in Paris killed at least 40 people Friday night as the perpetrators set off multiple explosives and took dozens hostage.

Two loud explosions were heard outside Stade de France, which was hosting a France vs. Germany soccer match, prompting the swift evacuation of French president Francoise Holland. While the blast happened about 15 minutes into the game, play continued as attendees watched unaware of multiple attacks occurring throughout the city.

The explosion, believed to be a suicide attack, left three people dead many other wounded.
