The word around town is that the much anticipated HTC Vive VR headset is coming on Dec. 8. The rumor was sparked by an interview by Polish website TVN24Bis.pl to HTC Product Commercialization Manager, Bartosza Zuka.

In the interview, first reported by RoadToVR, Zuka said that the HTC Vive will "premiere" on Dec. 8. He said the same in a separate interview, this time with the Gram.pl. He also mentioned that the said "premiere" will be limited to three countries only, namely the US, the UK and Germany.

When reached for comment, an HTC representative dismissed the interview as unconfirmed and unofficial. The representative told RoadToVR: "I would not consider this information confirmed or from HTC official channels."

This might be a case of a "lost in translation" as to what the word "premiere" exactly means. RoadToVR is guessing that Zuka might be referring to an announcement of a release date, an unveiling of the final model or a limited roll out to the three countries mentioned. But as the website collects more information it advised to take the report with a grain of salt.

While there is no official yet from HTC, the company meanwhile launched an HTC Vive world tour where fans could try the latest prototype of the reality headset. The world tour kicked off on Oct. 16 but those who missed it still has the chance to try on the HTC Vive until Nov. 8.
