The popular TV show "Baywatch" is getting a reboot 16 years after the hit show left TV.

According to Comic Book, thus far there is not a lot of information about the movie. However, recently, information has started to leak from inside sources.

The first piece of information is that the movie will be an R-rating comedy with two major stars already attached to the film.

The first star is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who will be playing the role of Mitch Buchannon. Fans of the series know that the role was made popular by David Hasselhoff during the show's run. The role of Mitch started a career rebirth for Hasselhoff, which led to the character being on every season of the show.

The second star that has been confirmed to be in  the reboot is Zac Efron. E Online reports that Johnson himself tweeted that Efron was on board for the project via his Twitter Account. Currently, there is no news on the name of Efron's character. However, there has been some back story already revealed. Apparently, Efron will be playing a disgraced Olympic Swimmer who got drunk during the Beijing Olympics and tried to free several Panda bears. Efron's character will be trying to make his life right by joining the Baywatch team.

Johnson and Efron's character reportedly will not initially get along very well as Johnson will be constantly watching Efron and berating his performance. Efron will also be reportedly having a difficult time at Baywatch as the job will be more difficult than first expected.

The second piece of information is that "Baywatch" veteran Pamela Anderson, who played sexy C.J Parker on the show, is not happy that the reboot is being made. This could be due to the fact that she is not part of the reboot, but most likely it is because Anderson doesn't believe it will happen. The former Baywatch beauty has said that she has heard of the reboot for over 15 years now and that she'll believe it will happen when she sees it.

When asked if she was offered a chance to reprise the role of C.J Parker or if any of today's stars could do the role as well as she did, Anderson simply replied that she has declined any offers to date to play C.J again and that she is irreplaceable in the role.

Currently, there is no word on the release date of the movie, but filming for the "Baywatch" film is set to start early 2016.
