Valve's Steam Controller is not yet out in the market. However, the video game development company is already thinking about how to redesign their hardware and make it a better fit for the user.

In an interview by Polygon, steam controller designer Erik Johnson mentioned that they are looking to make their controller fully customizable where players will be able to create one based on their own preferences and playing style.

"We want to release the CAD files for how these controllers are put together. How do you mod the controller? What does that look like?" Johnson said in the interview.

Nonetheless, although the idea alone posts some great challenges, Johnson emphasized that it is their way of adding value for their customers. The designer furthered that it is already part of their "DNA" to continuously innovate and provide a new user experience to their customers.

According to Game Rant, despite having the printable details and design, modifying the controller will be a difficult task for many gamers. Added with the need for a 3D printer, a customized controller might not be fully available for everyone.

However, the gaming news outlet pointed that the idea coming from Valve is just natural given that the company is staying to its commitment of giving players as much freedom they can handle, be it in the software or hardware aspect of gaming.

Game Rant even furthered that the Steam Controller that Valve is about to release is already packed with customization features. The controller's touch-pads, buttons and trigger can already be configured based on a player's liking, hence, the idea of customizable controller design, though difficult in the production end, is not far-fetched.

The Steam Controller is Valve's new peripheral that will enable gamers to play steam games on TV and PC, even those that are designed without controller support.

As mentioned in Valve's Steam store, the Steam Controller features dual trackpads, dual-stage triggers with 10 degrees travel, magnetic flux and tactile switch, HD haptic feedback, Analog stick, back-grip buttons and fully customizable controls.

Besides having a dual mode ability of using a wired or wireless, the said controller will also boast "gyroscope and accelerometer sensors" that will enable "tilt-to-steer" functionality as well as local multiplayer capability.

Through the said features, gamers can explore and play various games with higher levels of precision that are previously unattainable with traditional gaming controllers.

The Steam Controller is scheduled to hit the market on November 10, 2015.
