"Marvel Heroes" is the game for Marvel fanatics who want to take their favorite superhero character on an adventure to save the world.

Now, with Marvel on full throttle in creating superhero movies, the company will also give the game a number of changes that will not only build some hype on their upcoming films but also establish a strong base for their fans as they work on their movies.

In their Facebook post, the game's developer and publisher Gazillion has announced and revealed the changes that fans of the game will see in the "Marvel Heroes" game.

Besides rebranding the game to "Marvel Heroes 2016" from "Marvel Heroes 2015," Marvel and Gazillion will also be introducing a new story line for the game titled "Secret Invasion" where the heroes will be able to fight the Alien Skrulls led by Kl'rt- a Super Skrull whose addition has been long anticipated by fans.

Furthermore, "controller support" will be added along with visual improvements where the presentation and looks of the 2013 Marvel Heroes characters were modified and upgraded.

The game's leaderboard will also be updated which, as cited by Gazillion, would pave a way for the creation of tournaments and seasons that will enable the gamers to have something new to play every day. This will come along the Steam extension of "in-game achievements" which has been a critical part for the success of the free-to-play game.

The announcement made by Gazillion also mentioned that there are other planned additions for the game that will come once "Marvel Heroes 2016" became available before the year ends.

Among these are the "Savage Patrol Zone" that will feature an unending "gauntlet of dinosaurs" and "Thanos Raid" that will give way to the first appearance of the vicious titan Thanos.

"I truly believe our game is better than ever now, and the rebrand to Marvel Heroes 2016 represents our never-ending initiative to continue improving for the next year and beyond," Gazillion Studio Director Jeff Lind said via Gazillion's Facebook post.

As cited by Screen Rant, the video game publisher and developer also promises to bring more updates as well as characters to the game as part of their commitment to bringing "All-New All Different" materials for the fans and gamers.

"Marvel Heroes" is a free-to-play action-filled MMO game created by David Brevik- the brain behind popular games such as Diablo and Diablo II.

The game is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where players can choose among superheroes including Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, Hulk, Spider-Man, and Captain America among a roster of 50 other characters.

"Marvel Heroes 2016" will be available this December.
