For the ones who got to join that Apple event held last month, the company did reveal its new roster of products and services but sadly did not include laptop, otherwise familiar to most as Apple’s patented MacBook.

The word out is that Apple may have purposely left out the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro to give way to the iPad Pro. So with the event and the products out in the open, many are now eager to note on when the next gen MacBook would be revealed.

At the rate things are going, it is likely that the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro will be sometime in 2016.

While there is no actual date on when it may actually come out, the fact that older models of the Apple laptop are going on sale are making some folks restless since it could indicate a possible announcement of the next Apple laptop variants.

Many had hoped that Apple would have made an announcement by now on the next MacBook models but apparently nothing of such has come out in the open. But aside from the fact that the company may be purposely holding off any announcement to allow the iPad Pro to gain ground, there are some other noted possibilities.

One is the availability of the new Intel Skylarke processors which are reportedly planned for use on the new MacBook variants. The next gen laptops will reportedly integrate Force Touch Technology with Skylake-U processors which are pegged to help improve its performance.

Other rumors pertaining to the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro include a possible improved battery and that both will likely run on the latest OS X El Capitan.

Going back to the release date, Apple could be carefully planning its release seeing that MacBook sales have not been that impressive from the past two years. The sales decline started in 2013 though it seems that the PC market also took a hit from it with decreased shipments.

Another reason cited is that Apple is keeping tabs with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. With claims that the rival Surface Pro laplet is 50% more powerful than the existing MacBook Air, the Cupertino company may be carefully doing the necessary tweaks to overcome the claim.

However, the best news of all perhaps comes in the pricing rumors for the MacBook Air. The device will allegedly be one of the cheapest Apple will be unveiling in the market and will reportedly priced starting at $899.

Compared to the Microsoft Surface Book ($2,299) that could be a big advantage though a lot would depend on the internal specifications as well which many techies have now grown to be particular with.
