The iPhone 5 is undoubtedly the hottest consumer electronics item of the year, and supplies were hard to come for some time after its launch. But those who are still looking to pick up an iPhone 5 for themselves or as a gift can rest easy knowing that Apple's online store is now listing shipping times that mean it will make it time to your doorstep to be wrapped under the Christmas tree.

Both the black and white carrier-locked iPhone 5s are listed as being available to ship within one week across all models. This means that if you order the 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB iPhone 5 from either AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon before or around December 15, it should arrive by Christmas.

The 16GB iPhone 5 costs $200, the 32GB is model runs $300, and the 64GB variant costs $400. All prices are with standard two-year contracts from the three carriers.

The same shipping time frame applies to unlocked iPhone 5s. Apple lists both the black and white models as being available in one week.

The unlocked iPhone 5 costs $700 for the 16GB model, $800 for the 32GB model, and $900 if you want 64GB memory. The online Apple store states that there is a limit of two per customer.

The Apple iPhone 5 comes with a  4-inch Retina display, the new A6 processor, 4G LTE support. The handset also includes an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera that allows for FaceTime HD. The iPhone 5 also runs the brand new Apple iOS 6, which introduces over 200 many features, including the vilified Apple Maps.

Will you be picking up an iPhone 5 this holiday season? If not, what other smartphone caught your eye?
