The demand for the iPhone 5 might have finally caught up and been controlled by Apple.

Following the announcement that it sold five million units during the opening weekend back in September, shipping delays for the iPhone 5 were posted from a month long but has slowly been diminishing as of this month.

It's good news just as the holiday shopping season begins with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, shipping for the iPhone 5 has dropped to one week.

The original delays stemmed not only due to demand but production problems at the Foxconn factories in China.

With what appears to be production times improving, it coincidentally falls in time as the latest Apple smartphone makes its debut in China.

According to Focus Taiwan, Taiwan's major mobile carriers stated it is "very likely" to see the iPhone 5 hit local markets on Dec. 14 with preorders expected to take place a week prior with Chunghwa Telecom, Far Eastone Telecommunications, and Taiwan Mobile serving as its carriers.

The information comes as mainland China's China Telecom started taking preorders of the iPhone 5, according to Global Times. A shipping date however has not been confirmed, but likely for a December date.

The dates coincide with Apple's expectations said during the iPhone 5 keynote in September when Apple Inc. Vice President Phillip Schiller stated, "By the end of this calendar year, we hope to be in a hundred countries, 240 carrier partners around the world. This will be our fastest phone rollout ever."

The other countries that have seen an official launch are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States.
